Open Workshops
Our next Open Workshop will be on Sat 3rd March, 09:30 to 12:30, at Daventry Methodist Church. Admission is £2. If you are not a Choir member and would like to attend please contact the Membership Secretary, Marion Gilbert.
It will be taken by Tom Williams - counter tenor.
Tom was born in Halifax, West Yorkshire in 1977 and is a former chorister of Ripon Cathedral and music scholar of Uppingham School, he was also Senior Choral Scholar of the choir of King's College Cambridge. Tom now divides his time between being a freelance professional singer, vocal tutor and conductor. He is a regular member of the Exaudi Vocal Ensemble, an internationally acclaimed vocal group who specialise in contemporary music. He also sings for Stephen Layton's Polyphony and is a Choirman of the Temple Church. As a soloist he has sung in major concert halls all over the world including the Lincoln Center New York, Theatre L'Odeon Paris and the Dortmund Konzerthaus. He has also been a soloist in the presence of HRH Queen Elizabeth II and President Mikhail Gorbachev. Recent projects have included singing Gervasoni in Germany and Italy, Italian madrigals in Belgium and Ligeti in front of the Magnox Nuclear Reactor at Sizewell in Suffolk! Tom now lives in Leicester with his wife, Beth.
